Fr. Mathias Thelen
His gifts as a mesmerizing speaker, coupled with his belief that the transforming power of the Holy Spirit will conform us more closely to the image of Jesus Christ in our personal lives, will help you realize the love that Jesus has for all persons. Communicating that love to our brothers and sisters adrift in a world that desperately needs God, in a nutshell, is what it means to evangelize.
Fr. Mathias was ordained a priest on June 11, 2010 for the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan. He served in several parishes for four years before joining the faculty of Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit as a spiritual director and assistant professor of Theology. In 2016, Fr. Thelen earned his Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Angelicum in Rome. He has served as pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Brighton, Michigan, since 2017.
He is the author of the book, Biblical Foundations for the Role of Healing in Evangelization (Wipf and Stock, 2018) and has appeared in the documentaries Fearless (2017) and Revive (2020).
Additionally, Fr. Mathias is the co-founder and President of Encounter Ministries (https://encounterministries.com/about/) which exists to form and equip people to demonstrate the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of their spiritual gifts. He loves being a Pastor and helping people to realize the saving love of Jesus Christ.
Matthew Leonard
Matthew Leonard is an international speaker, author, podcaster, and founder of the Science of Sainthood, a powerful online teaching program focused on prayer and Catholic spiritual formation. An accomplished filmmaker, he has written, produced, directed, and hosted multiple best-selling series, which have been translated into multiple languages and broadcast around the world.
Matthew is a former missionary and convert to Catholicism and appears regularly on radio and television, as well as his own popular podcast titled “The Art of Catholic.” He has written two books – Prayer Works: Getting a Grip on Catholic Spirituality and Louder Than Words: The Art of Living as a Catholic.
